Azztroyd Destruction was a one-off. Development from here on out is shifting to world building. Rumblingsauce Games has two worlds I would like to work on. The first is that of AB HINC. It will be based on the real world, and will mostly feature strategy games and city builders. The second world is that of Sancremath. This world is a new fantasy world, which I plan to create with incredible depth. I will introduce the worlds below.
AB HINC will be set in the real world. The timeline will be ancient and there are several game ideas I have regarding this period. The first game, which I am actively working on at this time, is AB HINC: The Beginning. I created a Javascript browser game of the same name earlier this year, however it has been abandoned in favor of using the game engine Godot. This game, as it’s currently planned, will span from approximately 50,000 BC, until about the beginning of the Copper Age. Players will start with a small tribe, of which they can pick their culture, and grow and expand eventually settling down and starting a civilization. I will expand on this game at a later date.
The world of Sancremath is vast and currently still being fleshed out. I have taken inspiration from many things, as one tends to do with fantasy. The first game in this world is planned as a roguelike/roguelite, however I was also looking at making a small mobile rpg. I have already started the roguelike previously but wanted to work on world building before I continued, so I started on AB HINC. Sancremath will feature magic, deities, Elves, and more. I’m hoping to make it at least as deep at the Elder Scrolls lore, as that is some of my favorite video game lore. I will be talking more about this game and the world it’s in at a later date.
As for technology, at this time I’m currently making everything on my own. I was using assets for Sancremath, but since I started on AB HINC, I’ve started making all of my own assets. I currently utilize the Godot game engine for the game itself. I just bought Aseprite, and am working on making pixel art. I haven’t found audio software yet, so at this time there is only one song I got from Opengameart.org. I plan to make my own audio as well, but that’s in the future. I also use Github for version control and a form of backup, along with Visual Studio Code for web dev and JSON stuff.
So that is the current state of development. I will be posting here again shortly with more details on the development of AB HINC. I am excited to start this new journey, as this year I really want to focus on gamedev and learning as much as I can with all these new tools.
